Sandra Cortez Contreras

Chemical Civil Engineer from the Catholic University of the North, with more than 25 years of experience at the heart of Chile's environmental institutions. Sandra is one of the few professionals in the country who has led the two main agencies in the environmental system: she was Deputy Director and Evaluation Coordinator of the Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) and then Regional Head of the Superintendency of the Environment (SMA) in Antofagasta, the region with the highest concentration of strategic projects in the country.

His experience covers the entire regulatory cycle: environmental assessment, project processing, oversight, and post-RCA compliance. He knows the regulations from the inside, having contributed to their development, implementation, and enforcement, which allows him to anticipate observations, reduce regulatory risks, and ensure the environmental viability of projects.

At EIS Ambiental, Sandra strengthens our clients' regulatory strategies in mining, energy, and infrastructure, providing certainty, foresight, and regulatory excellence at every stage.
